BTicino Tegui Wiring Diagram: 1 Outdoor Panel and 32 Indoor Units on 2 Risers

Esquema de conexionado BTicino Tegui 2 hilos – 1 placa exterior y 32 unidades interiores distribuidas en 2 montantes

In this technical guide, we analyze Example 2 from the official wiring diagrams of BTicino / Tegui: a video intercom installation with a 2-wire BUS SCS system serving 1 outdoor panel and 32 indoor units distributed across 2 independent risers.

This diagram is common in medium and large residential buildings where the vertical distribution of apartments requires two wiring columns (risers) to optimize distances and ensure signal quality.

What is a riser in a video intercom system?

A riser is each of the vertical BUS lines running through the building from bottom to top, supplying the apartments in each stairwell or block. Dividing the installation into 2 risers allows you to:

  • Reduce the maximum cable length per line, improving signal quality.
  • Distribute the load among power supplies, avoiding overloads.
  • Facilitate maintenance and fault location by zones.

Installation structure

The diagram is organized as follows:

  • 1 outdoor panel (Sfera New or Line 3000) connected to the main BUS.
  • 2 risers, each with 16 apartments (8 floors × 2 apartments per floor).
  • 4 floor splitters per riser (8 in total), one for each group of 4 apartments.
  • Power supplies sized independently for each riser.

Key component: Floor Splitter 346841

The BTicino Floor Splitter 346841 (€40.57) is the element that branches the 2-wire BUS to the apartments on each floor. This installation uses 8 units in total (4 per riser), distributing the signal to groups of 4 apartments.

Its correct installation is critical: it must be configured with the system POWER OFF and, after inserting the jumpers according to the required configuration, power the system back on and wait approximately 1 minute for stabilization.

System power supplies

With 32 indoor units, power sizing is especially important. The available power supplies compatible with this system are:

Check the device datasheet to determine the exact number of power supplies needed based on cable length and number of units per riser.

Technical installation notes

  • ⚠️ Always configure with the system POWER OFF. After configuration, cut and restore power; the system needs about 1 minute to stabilize.
  • The optional actuator allows controlling additional functions: stair lights, electric locks, various activations.
  • For the outdoor panel, you can use either Sfera New panels (as main PE) or Line 5000 panels (as secondary).
  • In the same apartment, it is possible to install monitors in a MASTER-SLAVE configuration: when receiving a call, the MASTER turns on and rings while the SLAVE only rings; when answering from the SLAVE, the MASTER turns off and the SLAVE’s monitor activates.
  • For alternative installations to those indicated in the diagram, consult the Outdoor Panel Variants section of the official technical documentation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I expand to more than 32 apartments?

Yes, the BTicino/Tegui 2-wire BUS SCS system allows scaling by adding more risers and floor splitters. For larger capacity installations, contact our technical team for a customized sizing.

Is it compatible with access control systems?

Yes. The system supports access control modules via keypad, RFID card, or Bluetooth, which can be integrated into the same Sfera New or Line 5000 outdoor panel.

What is the maximum cable length supported by the system?

The maximum length depends on the number of units and the type of cable used. Check the datasheet of the corresponding power supply for exact values according to your installation.
