What is a 2-wire video intercom system?
A 2-wire video intercom uses only two conductors to transmit power, audio, and video between the outdoor panel and the indoor monitor. It is the most widespread system in Spain due to its ease of installation and low wiring cost.
Necessary components
- Outdoor panel (Sfera New Tegui or similar): with camera, microphone, and call button
- Indoor monitor or phone (Tegui T-72, M-72, etc.): to see, hear, and open the door
- Power supply: integrated in the panel or external depending on the model
- 2-wire cable: twisted pair or standard installation cable
- Flush-mount or surface box for the outdoor panel

- Screwdriver and pliers
- Drill and bits (for flush mounting)
- Level
- Multimeter (recommended)
Step by step: installation of the 2-wire video intercom
- Plan the cable route from the outdoor panel to the indoor monitor. Measure the distance and prepare the necessary cable.
- Install the flush-mount box in the wall next to the entrance door, at the appropriate height (usually between 140 and 160 cm).
- Run the 2-wire cable from the outdoor panel to the indoor monitor location, following the planned route.
- Connect the outdoor panel: insert the 2 wires into the corresponding terminals according to the manufacturer's diagram. Secure the panel to the flush-mount box.
- Connect the indoor monitor: insert the 2 wires into the monitor terminals. In 2-wire systems, polarity usually does not matter, but check the model's manual.
- Power the system: connect the power supply to the electrical network (230V). In many Tegui models, the power supply is integrated into the outdoor panel.
- Test the system: call from the outdoor panel and verify that the monitor receives the call, the image is visible, and the door opening works correctly.
Installer tips
- Use cable with at least 0.5 mm² cross-section for long distances
- Avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage cables to prevent interference
- Always consult the installation diagram of the specific model
- The installation must be carried out by a qualified professional technician
