What is an additional doorbell for in a video intercom?
An additional doorbell allows the acoustic call signal of the video intercom to be heard in areas of the home where no monitor is installed: the garage, the garden, the basement, or any room far from the main monitor. It is an economical and practical solution when you only need to hear the call, not see the image.
What options are available?
1. Wired additional acoustic doorbell
The most classic option: an electric doorbell connected in parallel to the video intercom system that rings when someone calls at the outdoor panel. Compatible with most Tegui 2-wire and 4+N wire installations.
2. Additional phone as a doorbell
Installing an additional Tegui phone (such as the T-71U or the T-72) in the desired area also works as a doorbell, with the advantage of being able to answer the call and open the door from that point.

3. Mobile notification (no additional hardware)
If your monitor is WiFi compatible (like the Tegui T-72), the Tegui Connect app sends a push notification to your smartphone every time someone calls. This is the easiest way to never miss a call without installing additional hardware.
Steps to install a wired additional doorbell
- Identify the doorbell output terminals in your Tegui installation (check the technical diagram)
- Run the wiring to the location of the additional doorbell
- Connect the doorbell in parallel according to the installation diagram
- Verify that the doorbell rings correctly when calling from the outdoor panel
Recommendation
For most users, the most comfortable and modern option is to activate mobile notifications through the Tegui Connect app, without the need to install any additional hardware. If you need coverage in areas without WiFi or mobile signal, the wired doorbell remains the most reliable solution.
