The Tegui 374494 Series 8 is a 2-wire video door entry monitor with a handset and a 4.3-inch color display. It allows you to see the visitor, talk, and open the door, and has an auxiliary button whose function depends on the configuration and the installation.
This guide brings together features, replacement compatibility, N-P-M configuration, line termination, Master/Slave, and documentation. It is intended to correctly identify the replacement and understand what the installer needs to check, not to replace the manufacturer's diagrams.

What you are buying: monitor, not a complete kit
Reference 374494 corresponds to the Series 8 internal unit. The data sheet specifies surface mounting with the included bracket. It is not a kit with an entrance panel and power supply.
For a replacement, the existing components must be checked before purchasing. For a new installation, the monitor is only one of the project components.
Series 8 monitor data sheet

The technical data comes from the ST-00000300-ES data sheet dated 27/07/2018. It should be checked against the documentation for the installed unit if there is another revision. The specified power supply is not an instruction to connect a generic power source directly to the device.
Functions and controls of the 374494
The monitor has three main buttons: auto-on or cyclic display, lock opening, and favorite function. Communication takes place through a handset, which has magnets to facilitate its attachment.
Auto-on and cameras
The button can activate the entrance panel without a call and cyclically display the elements provided for by the system. The document also covers calling the concierge station, if one exists. This does not mean that any external camera can be connected or that a concierge station is installed.
Door opening
The opening function depends on the associated entrance panel and the configuration. If secure lock is enabled, the behavior in standby changes. If the door cannot be opened without communication, this may be due to that configuration rather than a fault.
Favorite function
The auxiliary button can be assigned to stairwell lights, an additional lock, auto-on, or intercom communication according to the M configurator and the installation components. Not all of these functions are available simultaneously, nor are they activated simply by installing the monitor.
How to interpret the indicator lights
| Signal | Documented description |
|---|---|
| Steady red | Ringtone exclusion |
| Flashing red | Call ringtone selection |
| Steady green | Communication in progress |
| Flashing green | Incoming call |
| Flashing lock indicator | Open door status, when the system includes the necessary components |
The door status indication requires the lock or actuator intended for this functionality. It must not be attributed to any installed lock.
Compatibility and replacement of an old monitor
Two visible cables do not prove compatibility. To recommend the 374494 as a replacement, the technology, panel and power supply references, configuration, and unit position in the system must be identified.
We do not present it as a universal replacement for Swing monitors, Series 7, or equipment from other brands. A similar housing or a match in the number of wires does not establish equivalence.
Information required before purchasing
- Reference of the current monitor and a photograph of its label.
- Entrance panel and power supply reference, if known.
- Clear photographs of connections and configurators, taken safely.
- Line termination position and Master/Slave selector.
- Number of indoor units in the home.
- Existing auxiliary functions and what should be retained.
- Indication of whether it is a shared or individual installation.
Keep the original state before dismantling. If the equipment is already disconnected, indicate what information is missing instead of trying random configurations.
N, P, and M configuration: what each slot represents
The technical data sheet states that the 374494 is configured physically only. The values must be determined using the installation diagram.
| Slot | Documented function | What must be checked |
|---|---|---|
| N | Indoor unit identification number | Unit address and relationship with other units |
| P | Association of the entrance panel for standby functions | Which panel is activated and which lock corresponds to it |
| M | Operating mode of the configurable function | Desired action and required devices |
There is no valid N-P-M configuration for all homes. Values from another model must not be copied without checking what they mean in the new device.
Units in parallel
The documentation covers units in parallel with the same N configurator and specifies a maximum of three in that scenario for homes without interface 346850. This information must not be extrapolated to every project: the power supply, topology, and components must be verified according to the system rules.
Favorite button M modes
| Mode | Described function | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| M=0 | Activation of stairway lights | Requires the specified circuit and components |
| M=1 | Opening of the configured panel P+1 or activation of an actuator | The documentation identifies 346210 with P+1 and MOD=5, or 346230 with P+1 |
| M=2 | Self-start of a panel configured as P+1 or actuator activation | The documentation covers 346210 with P+1 and MOD=9 |
| M=3 | Intercom between units with the same address | The units and the installation must be configured for this function |
| M=4 | General intercom | The intended scope for the installation must be verified |
| M=5 | Intercom between N=1 and N=2 units | N=1 calls N=2 and vice versa, according to the document |
| M=6 | Predefined intercom to N=1 | The data sheet describes that N=1 receives these calls but does not make them in this mode |
This table explains documented modes; it does not prescribe your home's configuration. The installer must check the reference, revision, and diagram before modifying the configurators.
Line termination ON/OFF: position of the last unit
The line termination micro-switch must be set to ON when the device is the last one on the riser or segment, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Do not change it solely to try to correct an image problem. Determining whether the monitor is the last one requires knowing the BUS route and the system connections, not its floor within the building.
Master/Slave
The manual identifies a Master/Slave selector on the equipment. Its presence does not imply a universal position for all units. Document the original status and consult the diagram applicable to the number of units and the installation.
Secure lock and door status
The documentation covers a secure lock using the 3501/JMP configurator, which is not included. With this function, the lock can only be opened when the entrance panel and indoor unit are communicating.
The document warns that opening while idle is not possible from the lock button or from Favorites when M=1. Therefore, this setting must be considered when diagnosing an opening function that only works during a call.
The door status function is different: it indicates whether the door is open or closed when the system includes a lock or actuator prepared for this purpose. It should not be confused with an automatic capability of any door.
Ringtones, volume, and call exclusion
The monitor allows you to adjust and disable the call. The technical data sheet describes 16 selectable ringtones for calls from the main entrance panel S=0, intercom calls, and apartment calls. Calls from panels S=1, S=2, and S=3 have default ringtones that the document states cannot be changed.
Ringtone selection
The documented procedure begins by picking up the handset and waiting more than 30 seconds until the red LED flashes. Selecting each type uses the button sequence shown in the manual, which should be consulted in full to avoid confusing functions.
The document states that you should hang up to confirm, or wait until playback ends to rule out memorization. It also describes exiting selection mode after more than 20 seconds without operation. Do not bring the handset close to your ear while selecting the ringtone.
Installation and commissioning
- Check the project. Identify the system, stations, panel, power supply, and functions.
- Record the previous state. Save references, configurators, and selector positions before dismantling.
- Switch off the power. The manual requires this before carrying out any work.
- Review mounting and connections. Use the corresponding support and diagram, without assigning functions based on wire colors.
- Configure. Determine N, P, M, line termination, and Master/Slave according to the installation.
- Test. Verify the call, video, audio, opening, and configured functions.
- Hand over the record. Keep the diagram and configuration for future maintenance.
The manufacturer reserves installation, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance for qualified personnel. In the event of reconfiguration, the manual instructs you to wait one minute before reconnecting the device to the installation.
Common problems and initial checks
| Symptom | What to check | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| It does not ring | Call exclusion, LED status, and addressing | Assuming the monitor is faulty without checking the configuration |
| There is video but no call | Panel reference, N address, and diagram | Changing configurators at random |
| The image is poor | Screen settings, wiring, and line termination according to topology | Deciding ON/OFF by trial and error alone |
| Opening only works during communication | If secure lock is enabled | Confusing configured behavior with a lock failure |
| The favorite button does not do what expected | M mode and auxiliary devices | Assuming all functions exist by default |
| Intercom does not work | Mode, addresses, and participating units | Assuming any station is compatible |
This table guides a review; it does not establish a diagnosis. To request help, provide the reference and revision, symptoms, what worked before, and what changes were made.
Replacement case studies
Replacing a 374494 with the same reference
Even if the reference matches, record the configuration, selectors, and connections. Matching models does not eliminate the need to correctly reproduce the installation and verify the revision.
Installing a second station in the home
The parallel connection, power supply, addresses, line termination, and Master/Slave configuration must be assessed. The limit of a documented scenario is not authorization to add stations without properly sizing the system.
Switch to a connected monitor
If you are looking for mobile functions, another device will need to be evaluated and its compatibility verified. We do not present the change to a Classe 100X16E as a direct replacement for every Series 8 installation.
